From Our Family to Yours: EBW Thanksgiving Traditions

Idelis Favole, long-time office manager of EBW, offers her family's incredible Thanksgiving Stuffing recipe: "This recipe was given to me by my mother-in-law after enjoying it at her home for a few years. It has been a hit with my family ever since. It's easy to make and extremely tasty. When my daughter-in-law joined us for her first Thanksgiving meal, she mentioned how she didn't eat stuffing - she just didn't like it.  We asked her to please try it and she did.  Now, this recipe is the only one she'll eat.  Every Thanksgiving, I'm asked to make extra, so they can have some to take home to enjoy.  My mother-in-law is pleased to know that her recipe has become a tradition for us all!"

The Favole Family Stuffing


  • 2 boxes of Stove Top Chicken flavor stuffing
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 – 4 celery ribs, chopped
  • ¼ cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 package (approx. 1lb.) of ground mild Italian sausage
  • 13x9x2 baking dish

In the pan, brown sausage and break up into crumbly pieces.  Once cooked, pour in a large bowl.  Then in the same pan, add enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Add onions and celery and cook until onions are translucent.  While onions and celery are cooking, prepare the stuffing following directions on the box.  Important: Remember to use butter instead of margarine.  When onions and celery are done, pour in the bowl with the sausage.  Once the stuffing is done, combine with everything else and mix well.  Spray Pam on the baking dish, pour the mixture in and bake at 350-degrees until golden brown. Depending on your oven, you should bake for around 25 – 30 minutes.

For a smaller amount, you can cut this in half and use an 8” square pan to bake instead.
